#30daysofbiking: Day 29

April 29, 2012

I continued my volunteer outreach at the USA Science and Engineering Festival held at the DC Convention Center this weekend.  The event was enormous and totally overwhelming.  If you didn’t see something that was interesting or cool than you needed to open your eyes.  More of this seen too!

The weather was beautiful so getting there by bike seemed like the only logical option.  Since there was a bikeshare station on the same block as the event, I chose this method.  I ended up having to dock at a nearby station a few blocks away at 5th & K since the intended one was full.  This was fine except when leaving I went back to the station on 5th & K despite the closer station full of bikes.  I couldn’t tell you why I did this – old habits, I guess (you mean I can use any bike?).   This bikeshare thing is hard but, not really.

Distance: 6.0 Miles

That’s awesome that you volunteered at the Science and Engineering Festival! I’ve wanted to go for the last two years but haven’t gotten around to it. My office actually funded the giant Michigan Tech Mobile Laboratory that’s in one of your photos.
