#30daysofbiking: Day 23

April 23, 2012

The 30 days of biking streak may have ended yesterday but the 30 days of bike blogging remains strong.

Today was intermodal Monday. Chilly, damp, and headwinds in all directions. But, no real complaints. A motion sensor traffic light in Greenbelt kept skipping my turn over a few cycles until a car eventually pulled up behind me. I couldn’t remember if Maryland has a 2-minute ‘wait then go’ law but regardless there was too much cross traffic for an attempt.

Today, I read that Capital Bikeshare will be adding 2 stations a day in Arlington over the next 6 days.  Really?!  As if your victory in our challenge this weekend wasn’t enough, you have to continue to expand your might, building that extra cushion to further dissuade those who attempt to dock at every station.

Well, Capital Bikeshare, the war is not over.  Today I became a full-fledged yearly member.  Next time, there will be no swiping my credit card and waiting for a new access code at each dock.  While you add stations, I become only more efficient, quicker, and determined.  You may have won the battle, but the #cabichallenge war is just getting started.

Distance: 4.7 miles
