#30daysofbiking: Day 2

April 2, 2012

The bike gods continued to smile on us in DC today – more idyllic weather.

Having to stop at a couple of places in Maryland today, I decided to go the intermodal route pairing my Dahon and metro. Up the green line to College Park, fresh air on the mile stretch to the university, and then more bike riding up to Beltsville.

During the second part, I passed along the paths of Lake Artemesia. The lake and park were developed in the 70s during construction of the rail line. Builders removed sand and gravel from the area creating the great space it is today. I highly recommend you do a lap or two around the lake when on the Anacostia Tributary Trail.

Distance: 9.23 miles
